Lake Information

Keystone Lake is a watershed that has two rivers flowing into it.  The Arkansas River comes in from the Northwest and the Cimarron River comes in from the Southwest.    The Lake is well-known for stripers, catfish, white bass and crappie.  You can also catch some good black bass.  The lake produces a few smallmouth bass in February and July.  Keystone has more bait fish than any more lake in the state.  Gizzard shad is the predominant bait fish, mixed with a few threadfin.

Keystone Lake is a flood control lake, so conditions can vary greatly during throughout the year due to rainfall.  Keystone can be at normal elevation one day and within 36 hours jump 5-10 feet.  Dam generation also affects the fishing in the lake.  Two good sources of lake conditions and fishing reports are:

Oklahoma Department of Wildlife

Unfortunately Keystone does not have any black bass guides.
